| Kanchenjunga,
in Eastern Nepal, is the third highest peak in the world and the second highest
in Nepal. Trekking in this region was in 1988 and is one of the most interesting
trekking routes in Nepal. This is a unique opportunity to explore the surrounding
mountains and rhododendron forests. There is a plethora of high summits, three
of which rise above 8,000m and 11 above 7000m.
Typical country life, unique culture,
terraced farming, a variety of vegetation, bird species, lovely waterfalls, and
spectacular glaciers. Nupchu, Lhonak, Chi Chi Ma, Gimsung, Pyramid Ramlang , Jannu
,Yamatari and Kanchenjunga are the noted peaks in this route.
This trek begins
from Tumlingtar or Taplejung, both of which are accessible by air, or begins from
Ilam or Basantapur, accessible by roads.
