Our Story
Our founder, Saroj Neupane, grew up in the Manaslu region, with a close connection to the mountain communities around him. He began working in trekking in 1994 as a porter and went on to become a guide. Those years on the trail taught him what a good journey depends on: careful planning, experienced people, and attention to each traveler along the way.
In 2000, Saroj founded Beyond the Limits Treks & Expedition with his team. He built the company around the knowledge he had gained by working on the trail and the relationships that make your well-planned journey possible: between travellers, guides, porters, local communities, and the team arranging everything in Kathmandu.
The company remains locally owned and family-run today. Saroj’s experience continues to inform how we plan trips, while our guides and travel team bring their own knowledge of the regions where they work.
