How the Everest Helicopter Tour Works
The Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour begins early at 5:30 AM, when a representative from Beyond the Limits Treks & Expedition will pick you up directly from your hotel in Kathmandu. Our team will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (Domestic Terminal), where you will complete the necessary airport procedures before heading to the helicopter helipad. At the helipad, you will meet your experienced pilot for a pre-flight briefing, covering important safety instructions, flight details, and weather conditions in the Everest region.
After boarding the helicopter, the flight takes off from Kathmandu and heads east toward the Himalayas. The first short stop is usually at Tenzing–Hillary Airport, one of the most famous mountain airports in the world, where the helicopter refuels before continuing deeper into the Everest region.
The highlight of the journey is the landing at Kala Patthar (5,545 meters), the most famous viewpoint for seeing Mount Everest up close. Here passengers usually spend around 5–10 minutes outside the helicopter, enjoying the incredible panoramic views and taking photographs of Everest and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.
After this unforgettable moment, the helicopter continues to Hotel Everest View, where guests can relax and enjoy breakfast or coffee while looking directly at Mount Everest. This 5-star hotel is one of the highest-altitude hotels in the world and offers one of the best views of the Everest range.
Finally, the helicopter returns to Kathmandu via Lukla after refueling. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will transfer you back to your hotel, completing one of the most spectacular Himalayan experiences in just half a day.

Important Booking Notice
Due to helicopter weight limitations in high-altitude areas such as Kala Patthar, a helicopter can only take 2 people per flight in that altitude. So, during the 5-person helicopter flight, all of them will fly together from Kathmandu to the Everest View Hotel, and the group will split into two. One group will go to Kala Patthar, enjoy the heli tour and Kala Patthar landing and return to the Everest View Hotel, and another group will do the same. During peak seasons, seats fill up quickly, especially for sunrise flights and clear weather days. We recommend booking your Everest helicopter tour in advance to secure your preferred date.
Weather and Refund Policy
Flights to the Everest region depend on weather conditions in the Himalayas. If weather conditions are not suitable on the scheduled day, the flight will be postponed to the next available day.
If your travel schedule does not allow rescheduling, we provide a full refund for the helicopter flight.
Flights operate only when conditions are safe for flying in the Sagarmatha National Park region.
