After arriving in Pokhara, you can enjoy a relaxing evening near Lakeside and Phewa Lake.

Overnight stay in Ghorepani

Early in the morning, you will hike to Poon Hill, one of the most famous viewpoints in Nepal. From the top, you can witness a spectacular sunrise over Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, and other Himalayan peaks.

After returning to Ghorepani for breakfast, you will continue trekking through rhododendron forests and scenic ridgelines toward Tadapani. The trail offers excellent mountain views throughout the day.

Overnight stay in Tadapani

Today’s trail descends through dense forests before reaching Kimrong Khola. After crossing the river, you will climb gradually to Chhomrong, one of the largest Gurung villages in the Annapurna region. Chhomrong offers beautiful views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.

Essential Information

Best Time for Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The best time to do the Annapurna Base Camp Trek is during spring and autumn.

Spring from March to May offers blooming rhododendron forests, warmer temperatures, and colorful landscapes. Autumn, from September to November, provides the clearest mountain views, stable weather, and ideal trekking conditions.

Winter treks from December to February are also possible for trekkers who prefer quieter trails and snow-covered scenery, although temperatures can be very cold at higher elevations. Monsoon season from June to August brings heavy rainfall, slippery trails, and limited mountain visibility.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Difficulty

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is considered a moderate trek in Nepal. It does not require technical climbing experience, but trekkers should be prepared for several days of walking, uphill climbs, stone staircases, and higher altitudes.

On average, you will walk between 4-7 hours each day. The trail includes many uphill and downhill sections, especially around Ulleri, Chhomrong, and Jhinu Danda.

Anyone with good physical fitness and some preparation can complete this trek successfully.

Altitude Sickness During the Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The highest point of the trek is Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters. Although the risk of altitude sickness is lower than on some other high-altitude treks in Nepal, it is still important to walk slowly, stay hydrated, and follow your guide’s advice.

Common symptoms of altitude sickness include headache, nausea, dizziness, loss of appetite, and difficulty sleeping.

Our itinerary is designed with gradual altitude gain to help reduce the risk of altitude-related problems.
