Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek is a beautiful trek that combines Himalayan scenery, rich Tamang, Sherpa, and Tibetan culture, and the spiritual heritage of Gosaikunda. This trek attracts huge numbers of trekkers every year, both foreigners and locals. This trek combines the snowy peaks of the Langtang Himal with the Holy Lake of Gosaikunda, which is a popular Hindu pilgrimage site. you will see the cultural Helambu at the end of the trek. Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda trek Itinerary shows you Langtang Valley, where you will see snow-capped mountain glaciers and the local lifestyle of Sherpa and Tamang people, which is more similar to Tibetan culture. The second part of the trek is Gosainkunda, the holy lake that thousands of pilgrims visit to take a bath. This lake is, in fact, beautifully surrounded by peaks. The waterfall from the lake to the lake will make your trek more interesting and amazing. Crossing Lauribina, you will arrive in the Helambu region. Helambu gives the trekkers a great opportunity to explore the life and living culture of the Sherpa. Many of the monasteries in the middle of the village take you into the world of Tibetan painting, art and culture. This Trek ends at Sundari Jal or Melamchipul Bazar. You can decide from Tharepati.
This Trek starts from Shyabrubesi. It is a small market and has become busy because of the Kerung Tibetan Border. The next two days are spent climbing briskly up the gorge like a lower valley, where oaks and rhododendrons give way to peaceful hemlock and larch forest; after ascending an old moraine, snowy peaks suddenly loom ahead, and the gorge opens into a U-shaped glacial valley. Springtime is excellent for flowers here, and in autumn, the berberis bushes turn a deep rust color. This village occupies the upper valley: Langtang (3.300m), the bigger of the two, makes a good place to spend a night and acclimatize, while Kyangjin (3.750m) boasts a small gompa, a cheese “factory” (fabulous yogurt,) and an attractive chalet-lodge. The Langtang Glacier is a full day’s walk further up the valley. You’ll want to spend at least a couple of nights in the upper valley to explore the glaciers and ascend the 5033-meter Yala Peak (Tserko Ri), from which you can view an awesome white wilderness of peaks, including 8013-meter Shisha Pangma.

You will start early in the morning and begin ascending towards Ghodatabela (3,000 m). On the way, you will be accompanied by beautiful rhododendron and pine forests for around three hours.
Although distant, the views of snowcapped giants like Langtang, Langtang Lirung, and Naya Khang will also start appearing on the way, which will perfectly complement the soaring sounds of Langtang Khola.
You will stop at Ghodatabela and cross an army checkpoint here. From here, the first clear views of Langtang Lirung should appear. Continuing, you will reach the small and charming village of Thyangsep (3,205m).
This village offers a complete view of all the mountains standing majestically. It can also be the perfect stop for lunch against a stunning backdrop. After Thyangshep, there is a small walk of around 30 minutes to 1 hour. You will cross villages like Champki and Gompa Danda which will feel like a relatively easy walk. However, on the way, you will see the tragic aftermath of the 2015 earthquake.
This caused an avalanche to fall from Langtang Lirung (7,230 m), which devastated the entire beautiful Langtang village. We will pass this landslide and stay in the newly settled village of Langtang (3,430 m) which stands as a symbol of resilience of the locals.

This is an important day on the trek as it serves as acclimatization day while also taking you to the cultural heart of the Langtang Region, i.e. the Kyanjin Gompa at 3,890 meters. On the way, you will leave some mountains behind and encounter more, with trees slowly disappearing and small shrubs and bushes appearing at this altitude, making the scenery more breathtaking with each passing hour in the alpine meadow region.
The valley opens up with stunning views and cultural elements like mani walls and prayer flags. Kyanjin Gompa welcomes you with giants like Kyanjin Ri and Tserko Ri standing tall behind, and Langtang, Yala peak, and Naya Khang on the sides. Explore the Kyanjin Gompa and the surrounding attractions, including the yak cheese factory. You can stop here for lunch. After having lunch and enjoying the views, start your hike towards Kyanjin Ri.
