Mardi Himal Trek - 5 Days from Pokhara Itinerary

Kathmandu to Kathmandu

Arrival at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport. Beyond the Limits treks and Expedition representative will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we will arrange a meeting, including a short briefing on the trek and an equipment check, preferably in the evening.  We will introduce you to your guide.

The rest of the time will be free, which you can spend strolling around Thamel streets, doing last-minute shopping for the trek. Overnight sleep in the Hotel.

After breakfast, you will travel to Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna region. You will travel in a Tourist Luxury Sofa Bus. The journey follows scenic highways alongside rivers like the Trishuli and Marshyangdi, offering glimpses of rural Nepal, terraced fields, and local life.

Upon arrival in Pokhara, you can enjoy the peaceful lakeside atmosphere and prepare for the trek ahead.

Today, your trek will start. After having breakfast in your hotel, we will drive to Kande to start our trek. The drive to Kande will take approximately 1 hour, while enjoying the beautiful view of Pokhara City and the Himalayan Views along the way. After arriving in Kande we will leave our transport and start our hike. 

The first part of the hike is a steep ascent, so it's better to stretch your legs and body before starting the hike. While hiking, there are various stops so you can take rest along the trail. After hiking for more than 1 hour, you will reach the Australian Base Camp. Australian Base Camp is one best viewpoints in this trek, offering stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Dhaulagiri, perfect for sunrise/sunset. 

After enjoying the view from Australian Base Camp, we will continue our hike and descend to Pothana a lovely stop, where you will have the option to have lunch. After having lunch in Pothan,a we will continue our ascent, go through permit check post and continue our trek to Pittam Deurali. Overnight in Pittam deurali

Note: We might reach Pittam Deurali early also, if you want to walk more, we can continue the walk to Lovely Hill, a beautiful stop to enjoy mountainview.

Trail from Pittam Deurali to Low Camp passes through some of the best trail in this trek. After having breakfast, we will start our hike, and after sometime intersection will come showing two ways, we will take a longer but nicer route which passes through a lovely hill. The trail to lovely hill is very nice its nor that ascent nor too difficult, and the trail is perfect for enjoying the walk. After walking for like 1 hour, we will reach Lovely Hill and the view will open up to magnificent Mt Annapurna South and Himchuli. You will get to see the beautiful landscape of the mountains and hills that this trek has to offer, we can see small and large villages and settlements in other side.

We will continue our hike, and after walking for like 40 mins we will reach Dudh Kharka and small places with two lodges anda beautiful view of Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and we will continue our hike to Forest camp from there, where we will have our lunch. Forest Camp is big with more than 15 lodges, we get to see local people and way of life in this place.

After having lunch in Forest Camp, we will start our hike, and after 20-30 minutes, we will reach the rest Camp. From the Rest Camp, we will get a beautiful view of Mt Fishtail, many local travelers would like to spend overnight here because of the view as well. Continuing our hike, we will hike to low camp and spend our overnight in a teahouse.

Pittam Deurali-Lovely Hill- Dud Kharka-Forest Camp-Rest Camp-Low camP

Hike from Low Camp to High Camp is approximately 3-4hours in normal walking. Though the distance is not that much, we will be walking above 3000meters where the oxygen level would be low. After having breakfast in the low village, we will start our hik,e and after ascending for more than 1 hour, we will be rewardedwith the beautiful mountain range of Annapurna, Mt Fishtail, Himchuli, and Annapurna South. 

We will walk through Badal Danda while enjoying the Himalayan scenery. The trail is mostly ascent but sometimes many trekker donot care about the steps because of the view surrounding them. From Badal Danda, we can see High cam,p where we will spend overnight, so we can just relax take our tim,e and enjoy the scenery and hike towards our destination.

After reaching High camp we will have our lunch and go for a short walk if you are upto it to enjoy the sunset view. The sunset view from Mardi Himal is said to be one of the best. ANd we will have our dinner and go to sleep early to wake up tomorrow morning early to hike to Mardi base Camp.

 

This day is the highlight of the tre,k we will have to wake up early in the morning, depending on sunrise time. It will take approximately 2-3 hours to reach Lower View Point where most of the trekkers enjoy the viewpoint, and from there it will take approximately 1 hour to reach mardi Himal base Camp.

The chances of setting up the tents for accommodation in the Mardi Himal Base Camp are very rare and rather risky. Therefore, you have to trek up to the Mardi Himal Base Camp and return back to the High Camp. The major highlight of this part of the trekking is the view of Annapurna Base Camp just below the ridges adjacent to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp. The stunning views of Mountains from the unusual viewpoints will give you a sense of satisfaction in seeing the world differently from others.

From the Low camp we will start to seacent to SIding Village. The trail to Sidhing Village is quite steep makes you realize how much you have ascended to reach High Camp. The trail is very nice and is covered with stones and steps all the way to Siding village. There are a few stop points where you can have rest. 

Don't forget to keep looking backwards as Mt Machhapuchhre will be smiling and waving you goodbye as you descend downwards. While almost reaching Siding Village the mountains will disapper and you will end your trek witha  drive to Pokhara via Sharing Jeep.

Overnight in Hotel

 

It is your option whether you need to go back to Kathmandu by air or drive back by bus. By air, you can see the panoramic views of mountains near about Pokhara and natural diversity and green forest and human habitat in Pokhara and Kathmandu from the sky. Similarly, when you choose the bus, you can see the gorge, narrow, and u-turned Himalayan road of Nepal rides in the bank of the rivers. After arriving Kathmandu you can pass your days according to your interest.

You are free from all the programs. If you have a flight back on this day, we will provide you with transportation to the airport. If not, let us know when your flight back is we will arrange transport based on your flight.

Best Time for Mardi Himal Trek

The best seasons for the Mardi Himal Trek are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, the weather is stable, skies are clear, and mountain views are at their best.

Spring offers blooming rhododendron forests, while autumn provides crisp air and excellent visibility.

Mardi Himal Trek - 5 Days from Pokhara Equipments

Mardihimal Treks are short treks in the Annapurna region. You do not need expensive or highly technical gear, but you should bring warm layers, comfortable trekking clothes, and good-quality hiking boots. Most trekking equipment can also be rented or purchased in Kathmandu before the trek. However, you must have warm gear in winter and light warm gears in summer. Rain punchow are recommended in rainy seasons from June to september and spike crampons are recommended in winter december to march.
