Everest experience is something that everyone must have once in their life. And the standard Everest Base Camp Trek is designed for people with good physical fitness and a good amount of time to explore. For those with limited time and decent physical fitness, the Everest Luxury trek provides a curated mountain expedition experience. It is the perfect trek for those who believe adventure and comfort should coexist.

Spanning for a duration of 6 days, this trek too begins with a thrilling flight to Lukla from where you trek to Phakding followed by Namche Bazaar over a span of two days. From Namche Bazaar, you hike up to Hotel Everest View. Till now, the itinerary is similar to that of the EBC trek. However, after this, you don’t trek all the way up to Everest Base Camp.

Instead, you will be going on a helicopter tour through which you will fly over the iconic highlights of the Everest region including Khumbu glacier, Everest Base Camp, and Kalapathhar, before returning to Kathmandu, all on the same day.

This trek replaces the hardships of traditional trekking and replaces it with all sorts of comforts, even in the lap of the Himalayas. Think of this trek like the rugged soul of the Himalayas met with the white-glove service of a 5-star hotel.

The Luxury Vibe:

So, what makes the Everest Luxury trek different than the standard Everest Trekking Packages? Well, think of it as Everest reimagined. Traditional Everest treks demand at least 12 to 14 days with their hectic itinerary including hours of walking every day.

With this trek, you will experience Everest and be back within 7 days with a few hours of walking at some locations. It is a perfect blend of trekking experience and comfort as you will still walk the Khumbu trails, but you do it in warmth, comfort, and sophistication.

Even acclimatization doesn’t remain much of a concern on this trek as the altitude anxiety is directly tackled by utilizing the region’s most prestigious lodges which offer oxygen-enriched environments and superior insulation.

Why Choose the Everest Luxury Trek?

All said and done, the cost of the Everest Luxury trek is significantly high as compared to the standard teahouse treks in the Everest region. So why exactly should you choose this trek?

For starters, this trek doesn’t feel like one as you get to stand experiencing the aerial view of the world’s highest peak but sleep in high-thread-count linens. This is all thanks to the high-end accommodations that you will be staying in.
Secondly, this trek is a perfect balance of comfort and time management for people who want a trekking experience but have limited time and can’t stay back for 12 to 14 days.

If you are trekking with your family and want a comfortable Everest experience, this trek can be a great option for you. Same goes for senior solo travelers looking for a gentler Everest experience. And this trek doesn’t require any prior trekking experience either. So, isn’t the cost worth it?

These ingredients are prepared with high quality ingredients.

You will be provided with energizing meals that are well-balanced, nutritious, and mouthwatering at the same time. And the dining experience along with the hospitality itself will be worth remembering.

Transportation:

Yes, you read it right. While other trekkers will be experiencing a ground level journey for days to cover the entire trek, your journey will be on a private helicopter over the Everest Region. This will shorten your overall entire trekking time, give you an amazing aerial experience of the highlights of the Everest region, and also keep you comfortable throughout.

Trekking is considered to be an activity that disconnects you from the world. And while it is peaceful for most of the part, sometimes you just need that connection back due to some urgency. Best Time for Everest Luxury Trek:

way to dingboche

The best time for the Everest Luxury Trek has to be during the peak trekking season in Nepal, i.e. the months of Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). During Spring, your aerial views of the Everest region will be further enhanced as the booming flora and fauna paints a very colorful picture of the region for you. And the temperature is perfect too so you can have a comfortable journey accompanied by various shades of colors.

In Autumn, the weather is quite clear as it is the post monsoon season in Nepal. And as winter approaches, the Himalayas are also standing tall in their snowcapped glory. With the perfect breezy climate, you will also get the clear picturesque views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and more as the skies are dust free and not cloudy. You can also undertake this journey during winters (December to February) as the entire region becomes a white snowy wonderland. However, you need to take proper precautions as the temperature during this season can be quite extreme.

It is absolutely not recommended to go on the Everest Luxury Trek during monsoon (June to August) as this is a season of heavy rainfall and sudden weather changes. A significant part of your Everest luxury trek is the helicopter tour, and this might get delayed or disrupted due to rain. Even if you get on that helicopter, the views won’ be as clear due to the clouds.

Physical Fitness and Difficulty Level:

The Everest Luxury Trek requires you to walk for around 3 to 4 hours for 3 consecutive days. That is about all the trekking and walking you will be doing during this trek. This is easily achievable for anyone with a decent level of physical fitness. And the trek features no technical section. Therefore, the Everest Luxury Trek is considered an easy trek which is perfect for beginners.

No prior trekking experience is required as this trek is way easier than the standard EBC trek. A week or two of walking practice and a good physique, and you are good to go for this trek.

On this day, your Himalayan journey officially begins with a short yet thrilling flight to the Lukla airport. Regarded as the most dangerous airport in the world, the airport surely makes up for itself with the stunning mountain views it offers.

From Lukla, you begin your 3-hour trek to Phakding. You will start with a gentle ascent alongside the Dudh Koshi River towards Phakding, and you will cross suspension bridges, prayer wheels, rhododendron forests, and iconic Sherpa villages on the way.

After a few hours of trekking, you have officially entered the Khumbu region. Here, you will be staying overnight at Yeti Mountain Home, which is absolutely unlike other regular teahouses on the EBC trek. You will enjoy luxuries unheard on standard treks including an en-suite hot shower, an electric blanket, warm bed, comfortable mattresses, heated dining hall, and hygienic multi cuisine meals.

Today, you will enter the heart of the Sagarmatha National Park. You will trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, which is the bustling capital of the Khumbu region. You will continue following the turquoise Dudh Koshi River and after a while, you will cross the iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge. After this, you will continue your ascend towards Namche Bazaar.

A steady climb of around 4 to 5 hours will take you to Namche Bazaar, which is popularly known as the Gateway to Everest. If the weather permits, you can also catch your first glimpse of Mt. Everest from here. In Namche Bazaar, you will be staying at Yeti Mountain Home. Expect the same luxuries here too. While in Namche Bazaar, you can go out to explore the bustling cafes and the highest pub in the world.

Or if you are too tired, you can just relax in the highest high-end lodge in the village, featuring a cozy sunroom and a well-stocked library bar. You will be staying overnight in Namche Bazaar.

A short yet scenic hike from Namche Bazaar takes you to the Everest View Hotel. Yes, the same hotel which is regarded as the highest altitude hotel in the world.

Every room in this hotel is engineered to face Mt. Everest. Sip a glass of champagne or eat your favorite pastry on the terrace as the sun hits the highest summit of the world. You will enjoy what they call the most exclusive breakfast in the Himalayas. The Everest will be right in front of you as you devour your delicious meal. Not just Everest, but the hotel features panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Thamserku too.

This is one of the most luxury experiences throughout the trek. You get all of the views without any of the exhaustion of trekking for days. Your overnight stay will be at the Everest View Hotel.

Today, you will be waking up early for an aerial adventure. Mind our words, this day is going to be the highlight of your trek as you will get to explore the Khumbu region without trekking. A private helicopter will pick you up from the helipad of Everest View Hotel. This helicopter will then take you over major highlights of the Everest region including Khumbu Icefall, Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters), Kalapathhar, and Khumbu Glacier.

You will be blessed with the most exclusive photography opportunity on this day while you witness Everest from the skies, which is an experience only few trekkers have. After your thrilling flight, you will then swap the 5 days walk back with a one-hour flight back to Kathmandu on the same day. You will spend your evening at a 5-star hotel in Kathmandu to rest and relax after the journey.

This is the final day of your journey. You can enjoy some leisure time in bustling markets of Kathmandu like Thamel for souvenir shopping, further city exploration, or go for any relaxation activities.

You will be transported to the airport at the time of your departure in a private vehicle. If you wish to explore any other trekking routes, we at Beyond the Limits Treks and Expeditions provide you with an elaborate list of options and guidance.

Everest Luxury Trek FAQs

Expand All

The Everest Luxury Trek tends to be significantly costlier than other regular treks of the Everest region. However, this is because of the premium experience that you get during the trek including luxury accommodation, gourmet meal options, and others.

The cost of the Everest Luxury Trek depends on the season when you are trekking, the number of people in your group, and the facilities that you are looking for. Standard price for the Everest Luxury Trek ranges between 3,700 to 5,000 USD.

The Everest luxury trek is not as challenging as you will trek for a few hours for a couple of days, and the rest of the trek will be completed via a helicopter. So, there is no intense walking involved. Altitude is not much of a problem either as the highest point you will be walking to will be the Hotel Everest View at 3,880 meters and you will be well rested while doing so. This gives your body the chance to acclimatize well.

The terrains of the Everest region are also quite well developed, which reduces the risk of injury. All in all, the Everest luxury trek is a great option for beginners as there is not much of a risk during the trek.

The Government of Nepal has banned solo trekking so as to reduce any accidents and keep the trekkers safe. So, you won’t be allowed to trek on your own as prohibited by the law. You do need to get an experienced trekking guide who is a local as that will keep you safe during the trek. This also enhances your chances to interact with the locals as the language barrier will be tackled.
