Upper Mustang Trekking - 16 Days Itinerary
Kathmandu to Kathmandu
Expand allOn this particular day, you will land at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu where you will be warmly received by the representative staffs from Beyond the Limit Treks and Expedition. From TIA, you will be transferred to your Hotel. we will have a short Briefing by our Tour manager. Stay overnight in hotel Bed and Breakfast.
This is an important day for you. we will make the last Briefing for an upcoming trip and check your gear and other equipment from our Trek leader and we will suggest you if you need anything to Buy in Kathmandu after checking your equipment, you can go sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with proper guidance. There used to be an artistic and valuable Durbar Square, at present those monuments are in a critical state though it is equally valued. In Kathmandu, you can observe numerous cultural heritage sites that are listed in UNESCO, including Swyambhunath, Bouddhanath, and Pashupatinath. Stay overnight in hotel Bed and Breakfast.
On the following day, you will drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu by a luxury safari tourist bus. You will get to view the countryside, including rivers, attractive mountains, villages, and farms. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Pokhara and will explore the vibrant city. You can see Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, and the other 5 peaks of Annapurna. Stay overnight at a Bed and Breakfast.

On the following day, you will drive to the airport from where you will take 20 20-minute scenic flight to Jomsom. Jomsom is known for its rough and adventurous nature. The climate and the environment will inspire you and from there you will set out to trek Kagbeni. It is known as the stimulating barren village, positioned at the Trans-Himalayan salt trade route through the Mustang area. Stay overnight in the lodge with Breakfast Lunch and Dinner
Taking the permit you will walk through the bank of Kali Gandaki where you can view picturesque destinations, occupied with sandy and windy trekking trails. At first, you will arrive at Tangbe village and later it will take you to Chhusang. Then, you will walk towards the tiny edge at Chele. Stay overnight in the lodge with Breakfast Lunch and Dinner
Moving ahead from Chele you will arrive at Eklo Bhatti where you will ascend to Taklam La Pass viewing Tilicho Peak and Damodar Danda. Then, you will take downhill to Samar village, and walking again for 3 hours will take you to Syanbochen. The interesting thing is you will be crossing the renowned Ramchung cave. Stay overnight in the tea house with Breakfast Lunch and Dinner
Taking breakfast you will ascend to Yamda La where you will cross some Chortens, local villages, and teahouses. You will also cross the mountain passes so that you can take upward to Nyi Pass. From there taking downward action will facilitate arriving at Ghaymi which is known as the 3rd largest village. Stay overnight in a tea house with Breakfast Lunch and Dinner
On the following day, you will begin the trek with a delightful stroll and you will pass the Ghaymi Khola. Going after the wall of the trekking trail you will head to the east of Charang village which offers willow trees, fields, and stone walls. You can also look at Big Dzong and red Gompa. On the following day, you will begin the trek to Lo-Mangthang, viewing splendid Tilicho, Nilgiri, Bhrikuti, and Annapurna I. The trek will make you take downward to Charang Chu and after that upward vertically after you pass the river. At Lo-Manthang you can observe a walled city on the Tibetan border. On the day of acclimatization and exploration, you will visit Tingkhar and Namgyal Gompa. Tingkhar is counted as the final village to the northwest of Lo-Manthang. You can visit Tall Champa Lakhnag as an alternative option as well. Likewise, you can roam around four-storied buildings known as the Raja’s Palace from where you can see the panoramic vista of the Himalayas. Finishing the exploration you will start to trek Drakmar via Gyakar. It is renowned for rock painting and it is believed that those who make a wish at Ghar Gompa their wish come true. As the trekking trail is dusty and windy it is suggested to stroll early in the morning. Stay overnight in a Teahouse
On the following day, you will return to Ghiling after completing 5 to 6 hours of a stroll. Then, you will love the exploration part and will enjoy lunch. Seeing the condition of the trekking trail it is recommended to stroll in the sunset time. Stay overnight in The tea house with Breakfast Lunch and Dinner
Leavetaking from Ghiling you will move towards Chhuksang and it will consume 5 hours. Throughout the trek, you will have delightful vistas of the Himalayas. You will admire the trek to Chhuksang. Stay overnight in the tea house with Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.
From Chhuksang you will trek to Jomsom and most probably it would be the last day to carry out such an extensive trek. Prior to the walk, you will trek to Kagbeni and afterward, you will accomplish the trek to Mustang and will connect to Annapurna Circuit Trek. Stay overnight in the Lodge with Breakfast Lunch and Dinner.
On the following day, you will check into the airport from where you will catch the flight to Pokhara, and that 30 minutes of flight will make you view eye-catching flight amid gorges and mountains like Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Stay overnight in hotel Bed and Breakfast.
On this day you will leave Pokhara and start to cover 200 km and then you will arrive at Kathmandu.

This update allows even single trekkers to explore Upper Mustang, either by trekking or jeep tour, without the previous restrictions. The permit can now be issued for the exact number of days you plan to spend in the region, offering much greater flexibility in itinerary planning.
