About Jungle Safari In Bardia National Park

The park, a sub-tropical jungle, is thickly forested by sal trees and carpeted with grass, savannah, and riverine vegetation. The north is bordered by the Churia hill range, the west by the Karnali river, while the Babai river cuts its course almost through the middle of the park. On the southern fringe of the park are the villages of the unique and indigenous Tharu people of Western Nepal. Within the park are several open grasslands (plants) where game viewing is excellent. Many of the forest tracks throughout the park also offer excellent game viewing. Day 01 : ARRIVAL

Board the flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, and prepare yourself for a real adventure into the jungles of western Nepal. The flight itself is an awesome experience. Gaze down at the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, seeing several of the 8000+ meter summits. The plane touches down an hour later at Nepalgunj airport where you will be met by your personal guide and taken to your resort.

You will be greeted at the resort with a welcome drink. Check into your room, enjoy lunch and then visit a Tharu Village. There will be time to visit the elephant breeding grounds to see baby elephants. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner while watching a fantastic sunset from the resort.

One of the best ways to appreciate the jungles of Bardia is to take a jungle walk. It’s a full day as we move about to various places to watch for the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. Your jungle guide knows their handouts, and he’ll take you to see these spots to wait for the arrival of these jungle cats. They are so impressive to watch as they literally strut next to the watering holes. It’s their jungle, and their attitude shows that they definitely believe it. We enjoy a delicious box lunch, having a picnic in the jungle. In the evening, return to the resort for dinner and a Tharu cultural program.

On day three, we will penetrate deeper into Bardia National Park on a jeep safari. While the jungle walk is exciting, a jeep safari takes you deeper into the park. Here we see more of the animals and birds as well as the unique plant life that makes up this wonderful place. We will have a box lunch with a picnic during the day as we enjoy the animals and serenity of Bardia National Park. Return to Resort in the evening to relax

The jungle experience is coming to a close as you rise to the sound of the birds singing. It’s time for breakfast before departure. You will travel back to Nepalgunj, passing through jungles, forests, and through villages to reach the airport. From here, it’s just an hour back to Kathmandu and city life. or on your next destination boarder to India or some thing else.
