Beyond the Limits Treks and Expedition (First Aid Box)

1. Medications

  • Diamox (Acetazolamide) – for preventing and managing altitude sickness (with doctor’s advice).
  • Paracetamol / Ibuprofen – for fever, headache, and mild pain relief.
  • Aspirin – sometimes useful for altitude-related headaches (with Doctor suggestion).
  • Antibiotics – for traveler’s diarrhea and infections (Ciprofloxacin / Azithromycin – consult doctor).
  • Rehydration salts (ORS) – to treat dehydration from diarrhea or sweating.
  • Anti-diarrheal (Loperamide/Imodium) – for severe diarrhea (short-term use).
  • Antihistamines (Cetirizine / Loratadine) – for allergies.
  • Motion sickness tablets – if prone to nausea during flights/jeep rides.

2. Wound & Injury Care

  • Adhesive bandages (plasters) – assorted sizes.
  • Sterile gauze pads & tape – for covering wounds.
  • Antiseptic wipes / solution (Betadine or iodine) – for cleaning cuts.
  • Antibiotic cream (Neosporin / similar) – for minor cuts.
  • Blister treatment (Compeed, moleskin, second skin) – essential for trekkers.
  • Elastic bandage (crepe bandage / ACE wrap) – for sprains/strains.

3. Other Essentials

  • Thermometer
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Water purification tablets (AquaTabs, chlorine dioxide)
  • Medical gloves (1–2 pairs)

4. Optional but Useful

  • Portable pulse oximeter – to monitor oxygen levels.
