ACAP permit cost per person: NPR 3,000
The ACAP permit allows trekkers to enter the Annapurna Conservation Area and helps support conservation, trail maintenance, and local communities.

Kathmandu to Besisahar by bus
Besisahar to the trekking starting point by sharing jeep

Accommodation Cost During Annapurna Circuit Trek
Accommodation during the Annapurna Circuit Trek is mainly in local teahouses and mountain lodges. These lodges are simple, friendly, and run by local families. The cost of accommodation and meals are set by the local government, so the price is almost similar everywhere.
In lower areas such as Besisahar, Chame, and Manang, rooms are generally more comfortable, and some lodges may offer attached bathrooms, hot showers, WiFi, and better facilities. As you go higher toward Yak Kharka, Thorong Phedi, and High Camp, accommodation becomes more basic due to the remote location and limited facilities.
Our package includes teahouse accommodation during the trek on a twin-sharing basis. Private rooms may be available in some villages at an extra cost, but availability is not guaranteed everywhere, especially during peak seasons.
During spring and autumn, teahouses can fill up quickly, so booking with a local trekking company helps secure better arrangements in advance.
In Kathmandu, our Annapurna Circuit trek cost covers night stays in a 3-star hotel as per our itinerary. Breakfast is included as a complimentary service by the hotel. Likewise, you will get one complimentary dinner from the company side on the second-to-last day of your trip in Kathmandu. It is a farewell dinner.
Food Cost During Annapurna Circuit Trek
Meals during the trek are included in our Annapurna Circuit Trek package. You will receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner during trekking days. The higher you will climb, the more expensive services will get because of the transportation limitations!
Dal Bhat is the most popular trekking meal in Nepal because it is filling, nutritious, and usually comes with refills. Food prices increase as you trek higher because supplies must be transported by jeep, mule, porter, or local transport.
Even though meals are included in the package, you should carry extra money for drinks, snacks, bakery items, bottled water, hot lemon, tea, coffee, and personal food choices.
Guide and Porter Cost
A licensed trekking guide is included in our Annapurna Circuit Trek package. Your guide helps with route navigation, accommodation coordination, local communication, safety, altitude monitoring, permits, and daily planning. If you are only hiring a guide, Guides charge a daily wage, which can vary based on their experience, language proficiency, and the level of service they provide. On average, guide fees range from USD 20 to USD 40 per day.
Guide service is especially important for:
Crossing Thorong La Pass
Monitoring altitude sickness symptoms
Managing weather-related changes
Communicating with teahouse owners
Handling emergency situations
Adjusting the itinerary when needed
Porter service is optional for the Annapurna Circuit Trek and can be added at an extra cost.
Porter Cost
A porter usually costs around USD 22 per day, including salary, meals, accommodation, insurance, and equipment. One porter can usually carry up to around 20–22 kg and is commonly shared by two trekkers.
Hiring a porter makes the trek more comfortable and allows you to enjoy the trail without carrying a heavy backpack.
Similar to guides, porters also charge a daily wage. The cost can vary based on factors such as the weight of the load they carry and the difficulty of the trek. On average, porter fees can range from USD 15 to USD 25 per day.
*Note: It is customary to tip guides and porters at the end of the trek as a gesture of appreciation for their services. Tips are not covered in our package cost.
Personal Expenses During the Annapurna Circuit Trek
Even with a full package, trekkers should carry some extra money for personal expenses during the trek.
Common extra costs include:
Hot shower USD 2–5
WiFi USD 2–5
Battery charging USD 1–3
Bottled water / boiled water USD 1–3
Tea/coffee / hot lemon USD 1–4
SnacksUSD 2–5
Local SIM card with data USD 5–10
Extra meals in Kathmandu or Pokhara USD 5–15 per meal
A general budget of USD 15 to USD 25 per day is usually enough for personal expenses during the trek, depending on your spending habits.
It is best to carry Nepalese rupees in cash because card payment is not reliable on the trekking route.
Expenses Not Covered In The Annapurna Circuit Trek Cost:
Visa Cost:
The Nepali travel visa fees are not covered in our Annapurna circuit trek cost. So, you have to bear this expense. Do note that we, Beyond The Limits Treks, do not take responsibility for the travel visa.
We can only help you by providing the trip confirmation letter that you can use to obtain the travel visa. If you fail to obtain it, we may not be able to help you further or refund the full amount of the package (in case the trip gets canceled).
The Nepali tourist visa costs USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, and USD 125 for 90 days. You can get the visa either from the Nepalese Embassy/Consulate Office in your country or upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport.
If you are applying for an on-arrival visa, you have the option to complete the process online and pay at the airport. It will take 10 to 15 minutes, and you will have your tourist visa.
*Note:
Make sure you are using a convertible currency for visa fee payment. US dollars are the best.
You can extend the tourist visa up to 4 months at the Immigration Department in Kathmandu.
There are different tourist visa rules for different countries, so check your country's tourist visa status at the Nepal Immigration Department website.
Travel Insurance Cost for Annapurna Circuit Trek
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for the Annapurna Circuit Trek because the route reaches high altitude and crosses Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters.
Your insurance should cover:
Trekking above 5,000 meters
Medical treatment
Emergency helicopter evacuation
Trip cancellation
Lost or delayed baggage
Flight delays or interruptions
Travel insurance cost depends on your nationality, age, trip duration, and insurance provider. Many trekkers spend around USD 100 to USD 200 for a suitable travel insurance plan, but the price can vary.
Before buying insurance, make sure it clearly covers high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation in Nepal.
Trek Equipment Cost:
You have to wear proper clothes and shoes during Annapurna circuit trekking. The weather, climate, and terrain in the Himalayas are very different, and normal clothes will not be sufficient to keep you warm. You need to buy trekking clothes and gear, and it may cost you good money, as per the quality or brand you go for.
If you do not want to buy everything, many items can be rented or purchased in Thamel, Kathmandu. Renting items such as a sleeping bag or down jacket can help reduce your overall cost. Beyond the Limits Treks can provide some trekking equipment support, such as a duffel bag and sleeping bag on request, depending on the package conditions.
Renting will cost you USD 1 to USD 3 or a bit more per day, depending upon the gear. Likewise, buying all the clothes and gear may cost you USD 500 and above.
Tips and Spending Money:
Another expense that you may have to budget for the Annapurna circuit trek is tips for guides, porters, and drivers. We make sure our guides and porters get well paid for their hard work in the mountains.
At the same time, we also ask our guests or anyone taking their service to tip them at the end of their service as a thank you. It gives them motivation to work harder and also an opportunity to make some extra cash.
You can tip 10%-15% of the total package cost to the guide and porter. Or, for a 14 to 18-day trek, you can tip USD 150 to USD 200 to your guide and USD 50 to USD 80 to your porter. Likewise, you can tip USD 2 to your drivers and USD 5 to USD 10 to your tour guide. It is up to you how much you want to tip.
*Note: If you are unhappy with your guide or porter service, you do not have to pay. Tipping is totally up to your satisfaction.
Finally, we also recommend budgeting money for shopping and some emergency funds. This may vary from person to person and their spending habits. If you like to enjoy spas, massages, shopping, cafe hopping, drinks, etc, you should budget as per that.
We recommend keeping USD 200 to USD 1,000 and above as per your spending habits for shopping and other services. Likewise, keep a few hundred to a thousand to two thousand dollars aside as an emergency fund. You will not be using this amount unless the situation demands. It is your safety net.
For most international travelers, the total Annapurna Circuit Trek budget includes the package price plus personal expenses, visa, insurance, tips, and international flights.
A realistic total budget may look like this:
Annapurna Circuit Trek package: USD 799–1050
Nepal visa: USD 30–50
Travel insurance: USD 100–200
Personal expenses during trek: USD 150–300
Tips for guide/porter: USD 80–200
Extra meals/shopping in Kathmandu/Pokhara: USD 100–300
International flights: Depends on country and season
For most trekkers already arriving in Nepal, a practical budget excluding international flights is around USD 1,100 to USD 1,800, depending on group size, personal spending, upgrades, and trekking style.
