Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is one of the most remote trekking routes to the Himalayans connecting the spectacular valley of Langtang with the high mountain lakes at Gosaikunda. Following the Trisuli River north out of Kathmandu, the trekking route travels through Trisuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syarubensi, a Sherpa village located at the edge of the Langtang national park. The trekking routes eye-catching landscape and provides affinity to Nepalese /Tibetan /Sherpa and Tamang culture.
The name “Langtang” means “Monks looking for lost Yak”. The Langtang Gosaikunda trek is a basic tea house trek, meaning lodging and fooding is provided in lodges and homestay. The majority of trekkers hire a guide or porter but many prefer to trek independently too. The best month suggested for the trek is mid-September to mid-December.

Food is quite awesome considering the altitude and remoteness. It’s safe and best. The guest houses provide a “hot water shower” for about $3-$4. Hot drinking water can be pretty expensive and it is recommended to treat all water before using it for drinking purposes.
