The Kanchenjunga region is a remote and spectacular trekking region located in the eastern part of Nepal. Mount Kanchenjunga (8,586meters) is the third-highest mountain in the world. With the region still developing in its infrastructure, it is one of the less-crowded regions of Nepal in terms of tourist destinations. In this region, trekkers can explore the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek, which leads to both Kanchenjunga South and North base Camp, enjoying the majestic peak of Mount Kanchenjunga and neighbouring peaks.
The Kanchenjunga region is also one of the restricted areas of Nepal, for which tourists will require a special restricted area permit to enter.
